Sorry I have been gone for a few days, I came down with a lovely SUMMER cold last week. In all honesty, every day I question why I did not grow up about eighty years ago rather than now. Granted there are a lot of present day things that I like, that’s all they are things. I met with an old friend Friday and we talked about how we wished everyone just went back to basics, and focused on things that really mattered, instead of trying to make the most money to buy all the fancy nice things. Let’s just go back to living the simple life! Continue reading “Meeting up with an Old Friend, Living the Simple Life!”

Here it goes for my first product review. This past week Social Nature sent me a voucher for a free Stay Away Natural Spider Repellent, all I had to do was review the product for them with my honest opinions. This review is a representation of my true thoughts on the product and is in no way influenced by Social Nature or the brand Earthkind. Continue reading “Stay Away Natural Spider Repellent”

“How about tomorrow” I am beginning to understand how parents can be so easily manipulated by their cute little critter children. This has become the phrase of the week, and little toddler just thinks that anything he doesn’t want to do can be put off until tomorrow. Yay me! This week I have put together my weekly meal plan, and am hear to share with you this weeks food at a glance along with one of the first recipes of the week. The inspiration for the first recipe, “Asian Broccoli Slaw” came from one of Patrick’s co-workers who made it for a work gathering a few weeks ago. He came home from work and we started talking about what some people made and what he ate, and then he said something along the lines of “And Debbie made this really good broccoli slaw with Ramen noodles in it.” He definitely wanted me to replicate this at home. Green Toys- A Family Favorite!

I am so happy to do a post on one of our favorite toy brands, GREEN TOYS! Being a natural minded family we love them because they are “green.” They are made in the USA out of 100% recycled plastic milk jugs (these toys are full circle, your kids drink a ton of milk, you recycle the milk jug, and then buy a toy made of it later). The toys have no BPA, phthalates, PVC, or external coatings. Even the packaging is made out of recyclable materials and soy ink. However, the best part- they’re DISHWASHER SAFE!! The Mom Life— How I’ve Learned to be okay with Changes in my Plans

STOP THE ITCHING, How I Finally Quit Taking my Allergy Medicine- Cetirizine (Zyrtec)

In my continued quest to rid our life of unnecessary “stuff”  that cruds up our bodies, it was time to address the fact that I was taking a Cetirizine allergy pill everyday! Okay, I won’t even pretend this was my idea it was my loving mother’s idea, but I have been taking an allergy pill everyday of my life since I was about 10 (we’re talking a good 2/3 of my life with one of those bad boys every day) and it had become kind of a “habit” or really something I was afraid in a sense to quit taking, because it was really all I knew and I felt like my body needed it. It wasn’t till I actually tried to quit taking it that I became alarmed. Continue reading “STOP THE ITCHING, How I Finally Quit Taking my Allergy Medicine- Cetirizine (Zyrtec)”

FAVORITES: Baby/Toddler Books

This post contains affiliate links, if you have any questions please visit my full Disclosure Page.

This list was prompted because I had a baby gift to buy and I always like to include a book or two for the new family, with a little note from our family. Before having my son I had ONE favorite book to buy for baby showers “You are my I Love You”, and I always bought it to go with my gift. Fast forward two and a half year and it is really hard for me to decide which of our favorite books to include. Continue reading “FAVORITES: Baby/Toddler Books”
