“How about tomorrow” I am beginning to understand how parents can be so easily manipulated by their cute little critter children. This has become the phrase of the week, and little toddler just thinks that anything he doesn’t want to do can be put off until tomorrow. Yay me! This week I have put together my weekly meal plan, and am hear to share with you this weeks food at a glance along with one of the first recipes of the week. The inspiration for the first recipe, “Asian Broccoli Slaw” came from one of Patrick’s co-workers who made it for a work gathering a few weeks ago. He came home from work and we started talking about what some people made and what he ate, and then he said something along the lines of “And Debbie made this really good broccoli slaw with Ramen noodles in it.” He definitely wanted me to replicate this at home. So, in the beginning when we first started really eating organically, one of things that was hard for me to find was organic hot dog and hamburger buns. Thank GOODNESS my wonderful husband bought me a bread machine, because that thing can make almost anything! I sought out to find the most delicious hot dog/hamburger bun recipe and opened my bread machine recipe book to find just that (pg. 92). The first and last recipe I’ll ever use to make hot dog and hamburger buns, I nailed them on the first try. I will also never buy them from the store again. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned before but we are a big fan of Mexican food in our house. We have celebrated many of birthdays either cooking Mexican food or going to a Mexican restaurant and celebrating in the presence of a Mariachi band. We love it in all forms, and my son is really jumping on the band-wagon too. Sandwich anything between a tortilla and dip it in “sad peam” (sour cream) and he will chow down. Who loves to put ribs on the grill or in the oven low and slow for 6+ hours?

No responses. Yes, me either! I mean don’t get me wrong I love the taste of a fall off the bone smoked rib that I grew up eating cooked by my Dad. However, fast forward to now in which a little toddler is running around the house and wants to “help me,” slowly watching the grill over a period of 6 hours is not something he enjoys.
