Roundup, Glyphosate, GMO

This post could potentially be controversial to some people out there but, one of my original desires to enter the blogging world was to educate people in a down to earth way. Science is scary for a lot of people and most people don’t have the time to do research. I hope this post helps to educate you on Roundup, glyphosate, and how it is harming our food system today. Teacher Appreciation Treat

I just wanted to share a very simple, easy, and inexpensive way I found to show the teachers in your children’s lives how much they mean to your family. My son goes to a little Mommy and Me program once a week and tomorrow is his last day. I wanted to make a little teacher appreciation treat for Patrick to give them on his last day. Making Bread, or BUNS rather.

So, in the beginning when we first started really eating organically, one of things that was hard for me to find was organic hot dog and hamburger buns. Thank GOODNESS my wonderful husband bought me a bread machine, because that thing can make almost anything! I sought out to find the most delicious hot dog/hamburger bun recipe and opened my bread machine recipe book to find just that (pg. 92). The first and last recipe I’ll ever use to make hot dog and hamburger buns, I nailed them on the first try. I will also never buy them from the store again. I’m convinced that you can learn to do absolutely anything on YouTube! Doubt my claim, search “How to _______” (and whatever it is you would like to learn to do) and BANG, an endless amount of videos teaching you to do just that. This post was sparked by a video entitled “Easiest Vegetables to Grow in a Small Space” that I watched last week. Continue reading “Experiment: Growing Romaine Lettuce”

Taco Tuesday

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned before but we are a big fan of Mexican food in our house. We have celebrated many of birthdays either cooking Mexican food or going to a Mexican restaurant and celebrating in the presence of a Mariachi band. We love it in all forms, and my son is really jumping on the band-wagon too. Sandwich anything between a tortilla and dip it in “sad peam” (sour cream) and he will chow down. How do you Clean?

As I’ve mentioned before, I really became aware of all that we put into our bodies and all we are surrounded with around the time I became pregnant with my son. We began eating more consciously and slowly began to change our house over to more natural products that are safer for our family. Today I will share with you the products we have narrowed down our cleaning routine to, in addition to some good old fashioned organic white vinegar and water cleaning. Instant Pot Ribs ~40 minutes, NO WAY!

Who loves to put ribs on the grill or in the oven low and slow for 6+ hours?

No responses. Yes, me either! I mean don’t get me wrong I love the taste of a fall off the bone smoked rib that I grew up eating cooked by my Dad. However, fast forward to now in which a little toddler is running around the house and wants to “help me,” slowly watching the grill over a period of 6 hours is not something he enjoys. Chocolate Chip Cookie Mastery

I shall begin this post by telling you this is NOT a healthy recipe, however it is a recipe that I feel that everyone needs to have in their recipe book.

I have fought a long and hard battle with one of my favorite snackable desserts… the CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE. I have tried many different recipes, altering the ratio of brown sugar to regular sugar, more and less flour, higher and lower oven temperatures, changing the length of the bake time, I’m telling you literally everything.
